Loop Route Planner
Load Gold/Platinum source maps, merge them into your route, set a starting position, remove or add harbors, recalculate sequence, and keep next-leg mileage plus conditions links in sync.
What this planner is for
This page works best as a hands-on planning board, not a final answer machine. Use it to shape a route that matches your likely start point, preferred pace, and must-hit harbors. Then reality-check that route against weather windows, marina availability, lay days, maintenance, and the stretches where the crew will want a lighter schedule.
A good workflow is: start with a base route, trim stops you do not need, add places you do want, choose a realistic starting point, and then inspect the next-leg mileage and conditions links to see whether the sequence still feels humane.
Before you trust the route
- Check whether the mileage rhythm leaves room for weather and admin days.
- Make sure the route reflects your boat’s air draft, draft, range, and crew comfort level.
- Use conditions pages and marina links before committing to tight arrival assumptions.
- Expect to revise the route as the season evolves. That is normal, not failure.
If you are still deciding between boats, compare them first on the Loop Boats page. If you need planning context before editing stops, read How to plan a Great Loop season without rushing.
